Parenting Workshop

January 29 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, happening 2 times

Being a parent is hard work! There is no other job that is so challenging – yet so rewarding. Nobody teaches you how to be a parent. It is trial and error. Therefore, many parents struggle on a daily basis to effectively manage their child’s behavior. When parents learn how to effectively redirect behaviors through understanding the reasons for the behaviors, there is family harmony: children are raised in a respectful and peaceful environment. They learn how to assume responsibility for their own actions. They begin to feel empowered from within themselves rather then from external forces. There are logical consequences for behaviors which increases self-esteem and cooperation skills. Everyone wins when children understand that their parents are not trying to control them and are working to create a more respectful and cooperative family unit.
During these parenting sessions with Lin Starman, MS Ed. parents will learn strategies to begin to build a ‘tool box’ of skills to effectively manage behaviors without yelling, threatening or punishing.
