Nimo – Empty Hands Music Tour
October 6 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
At the pinnacle of a dizzying career, Indo-American Nimesh “Nimo” Patel was haunted by an unshakeable sense of emptiness. In his mid-twenties, he abandoned the limelight and found himself meditating in the foothills of the Himalayas. There an inner voice nudged him to radically simplify his life and find his purpose in service of others. He moved to the Gandhi Ashram in India and dedicated himself to the children in the surrounding slums.
Nimo has most recently embarked on a project to bridge selfless service, love and music through Empty Hands Music. Over the last year, Nimo has produced a new genre of music that ignites the values of kindness, gratitude, service, love, and joy.
The Empty Hands Music Tour is pilgrimage across the US and UK to share and engage communities along the way in the themes embedded in his heart and music. The intention is not so much to perform, but rather, to plant seeds of goodness and connect hearts in the spirit of service.
With no agenda, expectation, or strings attached, the tour is a vehicle for the emergence of compassion and generosity in our own unique ways. Nimo never asks for compensation nor expects a set outcome. The Empty Hands Music Tour is a journey that weaves together pockets of people and communities across the globe to celebrate the human spirit– to inspire a renaissance of daily life through micro-moments of love, and to realize our own potential to change ourselves, and in so doing, to change the world.
Nimo chose the title ‘Empty Hands’, because of the profound wisdom we all can gain when we understand this deeper truth: that we arrive on this planet empty handed and we will all soon leave empty handed. So then, how and in what spirit do we want to spend the time in between?
Nimo and Daniel Nahmod joined together to produce the amazing song Grateful and their new song, We Shall Overcome. To hear the amazing song Grateful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sO2o98Zpzg8
Nimo will also perform at both Sunday services. There will be a love offering for the concert.
